Update on Library Services for new national lockdown

by Tim Leonard on 2021-01-05T10:12:00+00:00 | Comments

Following the announcement of new national lockdown measures on 5th January, the following adjustments have been made to Library services.

The Library remains open for essential purposes only. Individual study spaces remain available:

  • To students who do not have appropriate access to online study facilities at home or in their local accommodation
  • Where students need to attend campus individual study spaces for their own wellbeing and mental health.

Where possible students are advised to study at home and make use of online learning resources (see below for details).

The Library will be open 9am-5pm with a limited staffing base. Controlled click and collect and browse services remain available. All visits to the Library must be booked online in advance and all social distancing and one-way measures must be observed.

The Library continues to develop its online resources and support.

Laptops are available for loan to those without access to suitable IT equipment at home. To apply to borrow a laptop speak to your personal tutor about your circumstances. They can make a referral to the Library and once approved, you can book a slot to collect a laptop.

If you have applied for your full entitlement of Student Finance support you can apply to borrow a laptop for the duration of the academic year. Please contact the Student Advisors to make an application. See our FAQ on laptop loans for more information
