Research at the University of Bolton is driven by the Teaching Intensive Research Informed (TIRI) strategy, with research based in a number of academic areas.
The Research and Graduate School manages all research degree students and researcher development across the University of Bolton. The Research and Graduate School offers support for all research degree students to enhance their experience as a researcher and to make the most of researcher opportunities at the University.
In addition, the Library offers support for research activities, and manages the University of Bolton Institutional Repository (UBIR).
A number of funding opportunities for research may be available, both internally and from external sources.
UBIR is the University of Bolton Institutional Repository. It is a searchable, online database that aims to capture, store and preserve the intellectual output of the University of Bolton. UBIR accepts deposits of journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, poster presentations, working papers, theses, reports and photographs among a wide range of material. The UBIR Team will deposit the research on your behalf, and will ensure that any material deposited is copyright cleared.

University of Bolton theses in hard copy are available for consultation in the Library. Details of theses are available from the catalogue: either refine your search by theses, or search for "theses". There is also a list of available theses at the Library Help Desk. Library staff will retrieve the desired thesis which will be issued to you for a period of two hours.
A number of theses by University of Bolton members have been deposited in UBIR and more are added frequently. To look at the available theses within UBIR, from the homepage, go to Browse by Department then University of Bolton theses.
