We are responsible for identifying and meeting the information needs of academic staff and students within their subject areas.
These responsibilities include enquiry work; selection of books, journals and databases in their subject area, and management of the Library stock. We produce subject-specific user and database guides on a wide range of topics to help with finding and using academic information.
We also offer help with:
accessing all aspects of library services, including induction and ongoing support throughout the year
finding and making the most of information from both online and print sources
correct bibliographic citing and referencing
research and study skills
For academic staff we provide information on the acquisition of resources, user education sessions and a point of contact for all your Library needs.
The Library provides a range of learning opportunities and support. Sessions from Academic Librarians may be embedded on your modules. The Library also works with other teams across the University to host sessions relating to academic skills and wellbeing.
