The Library's main laptop loan service is available from the Laptop Lockers near the Peter Marsh Library Helpdesk. Just swipe your ID card to open a locker and the laptop will be issued to your Library account. These laptop loans are issued for five hours.
Five Hour Loan laptops may be taken anywhere on campus but they must be returned before the end of the five hour period. See details of fines for overdue items.
If you have received full entitlement of Student Finance support you may qualify to borrow a laptop for a longer period of time. Please contact the Student Advisors to make an application.
If you are struggling for access to a laptop and need to borrow one on a short term basis, for example while your personal laptop is being repaired, short term loans are available from the Library Helpdesk. These loans last until the end of the academic year in June and are issued on a first-come first-served basis.
These loans will not be renewed and late returns may make you ineligible for next year's scheme.
Laptops borrowed under this scheme are issued to your library account in the same manner as a book.
If you have any queries about laptop loans please email library@bolton.ac.uk
Staff needing to borrow a laptop for work purposes should discuss their needs with their line manager and Head of Department. Their Head of Department can make a request on their behalf to the Head of Information Systems and Technology.
Once the request is approved, a member of the Library Helpdesk will be in touch to arrange the loan of the device.
You can borrow a headset from the Peter Marsh Library Helpdesk. If making a video call or participating in an online lesson we recommend use of the Group Study Zone or SLZ. They must be returned before the end of the five hour period. See details of fines for overdue items.
