Access issue with BMJ journals

by Tim Leonard on 2019-11-15T10:57:00+00:00 in Health, Nursing, Palliative Care | 0 Comments

There is currently a technical issue that means that some articles from BMJ journals are inaccessible via Discover@Bolton. We are investigating the issue and looking to get it resolved as soon as possible, but in the meantime there is a workaround.

  1. If you find a BMJ article via Discover that you cannot access, open a new tab and go to the Library's E-journals Portal
  2. Search for the title of the BMJ journal that the article is published in. There are many different BMJ titles eg. BMJ Evidence Based MedicineBMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health etc so make sure you have the title correct.
  3. Go into that journal and then search for the article title you need.

Many BMJ articles are linking OK from Discover, so you will not need to follow these steps for all BMJ articles. But please try these steps if you are having trouble accessing BMJ content.

If you need any help you can get in touch with the Library via SubjectHelp@bolton.ac.uk or 01204 903232.
