Its been a year like no other and we know that University of Bolton students have faced many challenges in their learning. Its been a hugely challenging year for us too, but we're really proud of the Library's achievements in the recent National Student Survey!
The NSS asks students to agree with the statement "The library resources (e.g. books, online services and learning spaces) have supported my learning well".
An amazing 81% of taught UoB students agreed with this statement in the survey. This means that satisfaction is 4.52% above benchmark - an increase of 4.45% from this result in 2020.
This puts us in first place for student satisfaction with library resources in Greater Manchester!
There is no doubt that the pandemic caused huge disruption in terms of access to learning resources and study spaces. We were one of the first University libraries in the UK to introduce bookable study space, and we have continued to extend our opening hours while ensuring a COVID-safe learning environment.
In terms of online support, we've introduced bookable Research Appointments with our Academic Librarians and a hugely successful Library Chat service. We've also implemented a new Library website that provides a more modern and responsive learning experience.
We'll be reviewing the comments received in the National Student Survey, as part of our approach to continuous improvement. Don't forget - you can provide feedback on our services at any point in your studies. Thanks to all the final year UoB students who shared their positive experience of the Library in the NSS - we really appreciate your support!
