by Tim Leonard on 2019-09-30T16:15:00+01:00 in School of the Arts, Creative Writing, English | Comments

National Poetry Day is Thursday 3rd October and the Library has partnered with the Bolton School of the Arts to celebrate this day of literature and creativity!

The theme of this year's National Poetry Day is "truth" - and Dr Ben Wilkinson from the School of the Arts has curated a list of of anthologies, guidebooks and single author volumes to inspire budding bards.

Some of the books on the display have a local connection. Boltonian Clare Pollard is represented, as are Evan Jones and Ben himself. Evan and Ben are both published poets who teach on the Creative Writing courses here at the University and they are also part of the Writing Bolton digital literature project.

You'll find the following titles on the display in the Library:

The Library also provides access to a range of relevant journals including The American Poetry Review, The Journal of British and Irish Innovative Poetry and Poetry.

You'll find a range of further resources for English and Literature on our Subject Guide for Creative Writing, including JSTOR and Literature Resource Centre. Happy reading - and writing!
