Ebook Central is our main ebook platform - we have access to over 180,000 titles and it's growing all the time! Ebook Central is provided by ProQuest, one of the world's leading providers of academic content.

Searching and browsing Ebook Central

The Detail Page

When you follow a link to an Ebook Central ebook from Discover@Bolton or Resource Lists online, you typically arrive on the Detail Page for that ebook. 

The Detail Page gives you overview information about the ebook, including the title, authors, description and often a list of chapters or sections.

Organise your reading with the Ebook Central Bookshelf

You can add ebooks to your Ebook Central Bookshelf, so can find them again easily.

Create different folders in your bookshelf for different subjects, assignments or modules. 

Accessibility Features

Ebook Central has a range of accessibility features.

 

Accessibility Mode

Once Accessibility Mode is turned on, Ebook Central's interface changes to a text-based view and you can use a screen reader to read the text on the screen and control navigation. 

To enable Accessibility Mode, log into Ebook Central, select Settings, then Profile. Your settings will be retained until you choose to change them. More details about Accessibility Mode.

OpenDyslexic Typeface

You can use the Ebook Central platform in the OpenDyslexic typeface. OpenDyslexic is a typeface designed to help combat some of the symptoms of dyslexia

To enable the OpenDyslexic typeface, log into Ebook Central, select Settings, then Profile. Your settings will be retained until you choose to change them. To apply the typeface to the book content as well as the platform, Accessibility Mode must also be enabled. Further details about the OpenDyslexic feature.
