Kortext

We now have access to a selected number of ebook titles, mainly in Health subject areas, on the Kortext platform. 

Using Kortext

When you first access a Kortext title (via Discover@Bolton or Resource Lists Online) you will be prompted to create a Kortext account. 

Use your University of Bolton email address when creating an account. 

Once you've created a Kortext account, you will use those details to access other Kortext titles in future. 

Once signed in, the Library section of the Kortext dashboard will show books that you are reading. The Collections tab shows all the titles that we have on Kortext platform (over 120 titles, mainly in health). 

Features

The Kortext platform has the following features: 

• Search inside a book by keyword, or go to the Collections tab of your library to search across our entire Kortext collection
• Add bookmarks, highlights and notes to a book
• Export references to RefWorks

Select the text of a Kortext ebook to highlight it, add a note, export the reference or copy the text (with the reference included). 

Kortext Apps

Kortext offer apps for Android, iOS, Windows 10 and Mac. Kortext books can be read off-line via the apps. 

Visit the Kortext Help Centre for download links for the apps, or search your device's app store. 

Accessibility Features

Kortext has a range of accessibility features.

• Magnification and reflow across all content
• The Kortext web app is compatible with external screen reader tools including NV Access, JAWS, TalkBack and VoiceOver
• Kortext's own app has its own inbuilt text to speech reader
• Colour and contrast features
