Bibliometrics

Bibliometrics is a field of study that involves quantitative analysis of various aspects of publications, such as books, articles, journals, and other forms of written communication. The primary goal of bibliometrics is to provide a systematic and objective way to measure and evaluate the impact, influence, and patterns of scholarly and scientific literature.

Key aspects and metrics of Bibliometrics include:

  • Citation Analysis
  • Journal Impact Factors
  • Author Impact
  • Institutional Impact

Bibliometrics can be used in academia and research evaluation to help researchers, institutions, and policymakers make informed decisions about research funding, promotion and tenure decisions, and journal subscriptions. It is also used by libraries to make informed decisions on journal subscriptions.
